It is a pleasure to provide a reference for Rick Lewis, “The World’s Funniest Waiter.”

On Friday, December 17, 1999 we held our annual Holiday Celebration at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. The evening was a success, but what contributed to the success was Rick Lewis. Rick is a first class entertainer—able to manage our group of 90 employees (varied ages, interests, and personalities). He is professional, personable, and above all, entertaining. He had our group both curious and annoyed with his clumsy waiter routine, and had them astonished and laughing when they realized he was the entertainment for the evening. It got even better with the second part of his routine. It was absolutely fabulous.

Last year, I invited him once again to entertain at a fairly formal dinner following our Directors’ Retreat. The audience consisted of directors, executives and staff at all levels and of all ages. Rick managed to engage them all with a combination of subtle humor, very talented and polished “mad waitering” and an enthusiasm that held his audience’s attention throughout his show. He has polished his performance to the point where, although some of the same directors were present, they did not recognize him. His show is still as fresh, hilarious, and polished as ever. He performs a wonderful juggling act and had his audience enthralled with his show.

I have no hesitation in recommending “The World’s Funniest Waiter.”
