Dear Rick:
The results are in! Every year after our National Service Meeting we ask all participants to fill out a survey to let us know how they enjoyed the meeting and what we can do better next year. Everyone loved your performance!
It was an absolute pleasure working with you and I can honestly say that your performance brought a bright and hilarious segment to our meeting.
I would recommend your talents to anyone who was seeking a professional, hilarious entertainer for their event.
Best regards,
Laurie McQueen

Rick Lewis the Funny Waiter Gets His Own Surprise
This event took place at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in Tampa, Florida. The Sand Key features a stunning white sand beach that is nearly a quarter mile wide between the hotel and where the water begins. The actual function at which I performed took place in a tent that was set up right near the water with one side open to the sound of the waves and the fresh sea air. The theme was a luau. A performance stage was set up inside the tent where I would perform my comedy show after the funny waiter routine. The tent was actually lit with electricity supplied by a very long electrical cable running from the hotel to the tent. I was in the middle of the finale for the show, hovering 15 feet in the air on top of my unicycle, on top of a 4 foot stage, when a service vehicle accidently ran over the cable and all the power in the tent went out. It's funny and humorous in retrospect, but at the time it was all I could do to keep from panicking. With no way to orient myself to balance on the unicycle in the pitch dark I notice that each table had a small pinpoint of light as part of the centerpiece. A small tea candle on each table. I asked the crowd of 500 to take quick action and to come to the stage with their candle. The audience immediately complied and surrounded the stage apron with light held aloft and I finished the show to candlelight. It turned out to be a great story to tell, though it was rather harrowing for a several minutes.
