My 15 Seconds of Movie Fame

This clip is one scene from the movie "Ernest Goes to School" in which I act as a stunt double for Jim Varney.

In this scene the Ernest character winds up on a football field, in the middle of a high school football game, with the ball in his hands and the responsibility of reaching the end zone. Halfway down the field a member of the marching band rolls a bass drum out onto the grass and Ernest leaps on top of it, running on it the rest of the way down the field to avoid the monstrous defensive players from the other team.

I'm the one running on the drum from the wide angle and behind shots. I spent a week in a local gymnasium with lots of mats and this custom made prop to learn to be able to run on top of this drum on the football field long enough for them to get the footage they needed to piece together the sequence. I had a few bruises after all the falls and takes, but the final result is pretty fun.
