New Hidden Camera ConceptIf you sound it out and add a few of the right vowels you might eventually get that HDNCMRA is a phonetic clue for "HIDDEN CAMERA". But when Rick asked recent survey volunteers what they thought the acronym HDNCMRA meant, none of the polite folks seemed to quite catch on. The video is the featured clip for your viewing fun this month. In this routine Rick pretends, as usual, to be a hotel waiter, but in this case convinces the interviewees that he has been asked to fill in for a sick human resources director to conduct a customer response survey. Rick's survey involved cajoling registering conference attendees into helping him out for a few minutes. Sitting down at a table with a Mac laptop and a fake web site form in front of them, Rick walked them through submitting their answers to some very odd questions. The laptop has a built-in pinhole camera, so what you see in the video are hidden camera recordings of function delegates responding to what they think are real questions from a consumer poll. Rick flew in two days prior to the show night to capture the footage, spent a full day editing the best takes together and performed his comedy waiter and headline comedy act just before screening the final cut to the whole group, which they loved. The best part about the new entertainment product is the opportunity it presents to target those who can use a harmless and playful humbling. (Are you thinking about your boss right now?) It's perfect for a group of folks who know each other already or as an ice-breaker for people to connect for the first time.
